Professional Aspirations and Identity

            Currently, I do not have a solid career path that I am considering; however, I am keeping my mind open to any options/opportunities that come my way. As of now, I have an interest in academic counseling since I have experience transferring from a community college to a four-year institution, so I can offer young students plenty of insight from my own experiences and help guide them in their academic endeavors. I am also considering doing any kind of office work for corporations/law firms. As an English major, I have plenty of experience reading, writing, and analyzing different works, so I would be excellent at filing, filling out paperwork, making schedules, etc. I also have a lot of experience with computer software like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; hence, I am great with computers and am an incredibly fast learner when it comes to working with new software systems. Additionally, since I love to craft in my spare time, I also aspire to create an online shop and sell some of the things I make. Particularly, I would love to one day open an Etsy shop where I can sell jewelry and paper art. I aspire to learn to work with different materials, like wood, metal, and glass, so that I could potentially sell art/goods of different kinds. Though this goal will surely take much time and planning, my passion for art and crafting is enough to motivate me and fulfill this dream. Thus, I have many different skillsets that I have learned inside and outside the classroom, and I hope that whatever career path I choose, I get to utilize as many of these skills as possible.
